Act IV ~ Loving The Wetikó
Episode Music ~ Cosmic Flow
May what I do flow from me like a river, no forcing and no holding back, the way it is with children.
Some time in the late summer of 2017, 9 Road Pisces85 called me and said he wanted to come over to record a tune that had been in his mind for a few months.
He arrived and immediately sat down at the electronic piano, and the laptop set up next to it, in the corner of my little one-bedroom apartment…the sunny paradise of San Diego beaming outside and spilling in through the windows.
As I often do when he is manifesting his musical magic, I sat at the other end of the room…on the couch…and smoked Cannabis while I listened and watched him werk.
Within a few minutes, he had recorded a “scratch track” of the base melody for the song. He then put that track on a loop and began adding different effects and instruments…slowly layering up the piece, as he felt inspired to do.
I always enjoy watching him go through this process…its masterful and mesmerizing at the same time.
I REALLY Loved the music…immediately! As I smoked a few more bowls, I eased back into the couch…allowing my mind to open into a state of receptivity…and Cosmic Flow began to spiral through me!
Like NO other song in my life, the lyrics of this piece came to me verse-by-verse…a tidbit from the 2nd verse here…some from the third there…a few lines for the first verse sprinkled in…and the chorus rained down all over my apartment…swaying to and fro…I witnessed it all coming through me…NOT from me!
I honestly cannot remember if the chorus came first…or near the beginning…or if some of the verses came through complete, before the chorus presented itself. It is a blur of beauty in my mind.
But what was truly remarkable to me, was that ALL of the lyrics came through me in less than two hours…as he built the song in front of me!

Until that moment…this “volume of flow” had never come through me in such a short period of time…and hasn’t since…in my song-writing experiences. Usually I’m “at it” for weeks, months, sometimes even years…before I feel like a song is complete.
Further blowing my mind as it happened…full disclosure…I have never attempted to create a rap piece before…or since!
In fact, I basically did not listen to, or sing, rap-like music until the Spring of 2017…when I was introduced to Nahko! And most people who know his music, would not consider Nahko and Medicine For The People to be a “rap” band…even though Nahko raps quite a bit in his songs.
But when I heard it…it was HOW Nahko raps…and of course…what he raps about, that inspired me to begin learning to sing some of his rap songs…and…well…all of his songs…but I REALLY Love some of the rap songs!
Satsang, another band to which I was introduced shortly after Nahko, also began to infuse rap-like music into my consciousness during the summer and fall of 2017.
I do not remember the exact date that Cosmic Flow arrived in our reality, however, when I looked up the date on one of the mp3 files we made for the song, it was 10/21/17.
For certain the song arrived at least a month before that or more…but that’s the date I found a few days ago when I looked.

Today is May 13th, 2021. On the Mayan Tzolk’in calendar, today is 1 Serpent.
As you may already know, the Tzolk’in is a 260-day, never-ending “energetic tracking system,” spiraling through time. You can learn more about it here, if you wish!
When I looked up the Tzolk’in date for 10/21/17…I found that it was also 1 Serpent!
Being that this was a few days ago and I still had a little werk to complete on this piece…I recognized the alignment of choosing to publish this today.

P.S. – I just tweaked the lyrics a bit while manifesting this piece…so this youtube video is already out-of-date just a bit! As I do…this is the “as is” presentation of Discovering and LOVING The Wetikó!

Clogging up our lungs and minds and keeping us the slaves of time
I no longer choose to die or sing another lullaby
Ascension is my only goal and that is how I’m gonna roll.

Surely you know
You are part of this Cosmic Flow
Cuz its as above and so below, the planets are aligning yo
Look inside and then look out, you’ll see the same without a doubt
The present moment is the key to free your mind from slavery
Artificial programming, distorting what we hear and see
Gaze within and find the flow, to unlock what your body knows
Listen when your heart decries and wear it without shame or pride
You know how to rock and roll your Spirit’s ride and highest goal
Mindful to the moment now bring freedom to this Sacred ground
And so it goes

Surely you know
