Act III
Confronting The Wetikó Premise ~
Initiation…Fixing
As the opening quote in the “Who Is NAME!?” section indicates…I STRONGLY support the possibility that we are spiritual beings, fixed in matter, having a human experience…not the other way around!
The foundations of a person are not in matter, but in spirit.
–Ralph Waldo Emerson–
On the subject of Confronting The Wetikó, within my life… Emerson’s quote, above, synchronizes two separate ideas in my mind…
That of initiation, from Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey…
…and that of fixing, from Astrology…
Fix.
Originating from the Latin word, fixus (fixed), which is the past participle of fīgere (to fasten)…
And let’s throw in the four elements of nature: Earth, Fire, Water, and Air…
And the Four Directions as well!
Confronting The Wetikó, for me, has been…among other things…a “road of trials” that leads in every direction…including up and down!
At a minimum…it is a physical road (Taurus), an emotional road (Scorpio), a mental road (Aquarius)…
…and a transformational RIDE (Leo)…weaving throughout all the roads…all happening simultaneously!
It’s ironic that when you go through a tragedy, you appreciate more. You realize how fragile life is and that there are so many things to still be thankful for.
–Adam Grant–
By actively exploring my deepest hurts, I was offered the opportunity to reach inside of myself and find a greater capacity for Love…
Deep, unspeakable suffering may well be called a baptism, a regeneration, the initiation into a new state.
–Ira Gershwin–
What we cannot take with us in that transformational process…must be shed.
In the literal sense, our physical bodies are certainly sacrificed, as we spiral around the “harvest wheel” each year of our lives…hitting each of the four points…the four signs…the four directions…
If you want to shine like a sun, first burn like a sun.
–A. P. J. Abdul Kalam–
…as we get “older.”
With confrontation… With initiation… With fixation… It is the same story each time…
It comes down to one choice…get busy living…
…or get busy dying!
Today is April 3, 2020…which is 12 Sun on the Tzolk’in calendar.
